Really nice photos! I love the “Marshes of Glynn” shot. Do you know that poem, “The Marshes of Glynn” by Sidney Lanier? (He also wrote “The Song of the Chattahoochee” with its line “Out of the hills of Habersham, down the valleys of Hall..” What a coincidence that you’ve lived both in Hall County and Glynn County.)

Thank you…I love the photo ops here, they are endless. I have not read either of those, but I will now! And, yes, it is quite a coincidence…or just fate.

The unknown bird is, I believe, a type of cormorant. Phalacrocorax. Here’s the closest pic– it’s possible this is a cormorant relative that isn’t easily linked to the birds in a taxonomic listing. Here’s my best guess… but I’d have to reacquire my bird book to be sure. 😦 http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Phalacrocorax_auritus_Double_crested_Cormorant1.jpg

I love when the birds sit together on fences 🙂

I do too…though it was a little to “hitchcock” at moments, especially when they started cawing at me angrily for interrupting their rest. 🙂

“Hitchcock Moment”: I still have a hard time watching The Birds all the way through.

It really felt like the movie when I first walked up on the small pier, the birds were lined up along both sides. 🙂

Good pics! LOL! I had to look at your comments to see if anyone knew what kind of bird that was. Some type of goose maybe??

It has to be crane of some sort..more than likely being it’s a salt water bird…hmmm. I’ll have to get out my bird book.
